Faithia Balogun Lambasts English Actors For Splitting Nollywood.

Fathia Balogun is not pleased with the way Nigerian movie industry has been segregated, based on language.

According to her, Nollywood is Nollywood, whether Yoruba or English, citing that they are all movies.

She also pointed out that lot of people are of the opinion that the term ‘Nollywood’ belong to only English speaking actors, while pushing Nigerian native language movies to another group entirely, which has resulted in the creation of Kannywood in the northern part of the country.

She however slammed such opinion that separates English actors from Yoruba actors, laying emphasis that Nollywood covers all movies in the country.

“If I do Yoruba movie doesn’t mean I can’t speak English. Or because you do English movies, you can speak English more than me. No! Give me my script, and I will read it, and I will do it. For me, Nollywood is Nollywood. There is nothing like English actor, Yoruba actor. We are all doing movies.”

Sad!!T- Pain's Niece Died After Been Fatally Stabbed in Florida.

The niece of rapper T-Pain, Javona Glover has been fatally stabbed. She was stabbed at a Walgreens drugstore in Florida on Tuesday morning, the star also confirms.
The 23-year-old mother of a two-year-old was reportedly still alive when Tallahasse police arrived on the scene at around 10:15am, where they found the victim bleeding heavily.
While she was transported to hospital, Javona later sadly died of her injuries.
Faheem Rashad Najm, better known by his stage name T-Pain, hails from Tallahassee and later took to Twitter to beg anyone to help find his niece’s killer: “The police are still lookin for the coward ass ‘n’ that just killed my niece at Walgreens in Tallahassee. If you got info pls help us out! (sic)

Singer,Chris Brown Arrested After He Was Claimed To Have Threatened A Woman With A Gun.

R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested Tuesday after a woman claimed he threatened her with a gun, Los Angeles police said hours after officers arrived at the entertainer’s Los Angeles mansion and returned with a search warrant.

“Mr. Brown is going to be transported where he will be arrested for ADW — assault with a deadly weapon,” LAPD Lt. Chris Ramirez told reporters at around 5 p.m. local time (8 p.m. ET). Brown will be formerly booked sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, police said.

The unidentified woman reported the early-morning incident to police, saying 27-year-old Brown pointed the gun at her before she left his gated estate in the wealthy Los Angeles enclave of Tarzana, law enforcement sources told NBC News.

The LAPD received a call at about 3 a.m. and sent several patrol cars to the home later Tuesday morning.

People were being removed from the residence and would be interviewed following a “protective sweep” of the home, Ramirez said earlier.

“The investigation is still ongoing, the search warrant is s still being conducted and evidence is still being collected,” Ramirez said Tuesday afternoon. Ramirez said he couldn’t comment on whether any weapons were found at the home because the search was ongoing.

Since releasing his breakthrough single, Eleko, Mayorkun has witnessed a rapid rise to fame.

However, not many have explored the story behind the Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) star’s journey to fame especially how he was signed by one of Nigeria’s biggest music export – Davido.

In recent interview with YNaija, Mayorkun explained he had just quit his job at the bank following an offer from another one when he got the call from Davido – who had discovered him from an Instagram video he had done of a piano cover of the Sony Music star’s song – The Money featuring Olamide.

He said,

“I was planning on moving to another bank because i didn’t like this one because the pay was not just it. The other bank was offering more so i was planning on going there. The day i wrote my resignation letter, was the day i got a call from him (Davido).”

Except that must be a charity award. It’s been four years since you bagged an award, ain’t you hungry for one now? A lot has changed since you dropped your debut studio album roughly four years ago. Let me remind you a bit. New talents are now on the block, some have already released solid debut albums. I’m sure you are aware of Lil Kesh, Kiss Daniel, Adekunle Gold. In a bit to be fair let me remind you of Simi, Aramide these girls are killing it will their voices. As a fan, I can’t say which direction you going with your music. I got news of your exit from Capital Hill Records, and wide speculations you have pitch tent with Flavour’s 2nite Entertainment. Hold on a second, is the Nigerian economy directly impacting your music? One thing that bugs me is your propensity to kiss your male counterparts in music videos or during a stage performance, never mind, it’s none of my business. I sincerely hope you know there is no sleeping on a bicycle as music in Nigeria is concerned.
I hate to say this, after your successful run with “Eni Mi Baller” it seems you took a chill pill, pulled a back seat and became nonchalant. Comedian Ali Baba shared the photo below showing some of his pet dogs and revealed that he named them after different world leaders (Both past & present).

Ali Baba claims that former Nigerian President Obasanjo, was aware and impressed that he had a dog named after him.

My dogs and I back in the day. Must have had like 12 at a particular point in time. Interesting time.

That time I mean. I had traveled and returned at night, but was too tired to relate with them. OBJ, the big Alsatian was the head of the pack.

Then Obama was the big black and white Great Dane, the Alsatian on the bummer was Thatcher.

Thatcher must have given me like 18 puppies. In her good days (X120k per puppy) the ridge back by Thatcher was called Madiba. It arrived from South Africa on the birthday of Mandela

The Second Harlequin Great Dane was named after Queen Amina… But the fiercest of my odds were Chaka, IBB AND Abacha.

They took no prisoners. In fact, if I gave you anything I had used before, like shoes or clothes,my advice is not to wear them to my home. Because if Chaka, or Abacha caught a whiff of that item on you… You will not like yourself.

They were my trusted securities and my friend. One time in LEKKI, 1997 or so, a guy scaled the fence into my compound in the night. I was woken up to a shouts of “Oga come o!!!!!”

“Oga I am finished!” And Usman my maiguard was having a good laugh. At 2am! The petty thief was on the roof of my V-Boot. I was more scared for his life than he was of it. Because then we had Chaka, Ghadaffi and Clinton. Those who new these dogs will testify to their brutality.

In fact, Obasanjo himself was very impressed years later when his friend that brought me a gift from Baba, told him how a dog called OBJ in Ali Baba’s house nearly killed him.

Baba used to warn my wife then, that if she ever decided to have a dog meal, she should not touch OBJ…

But then again, OBJ had a different kind of personality and a high sense of humor. Everyone can not be the same. So I understand. An that is all I have to say.

Mavin first lady, Tiwa Savage is ready for her first international collaboration since her ground breaking deal with Jay Z’s record label, Roc Nation.

After many rounds of rife speculations of their love tango, actress, Funke Akindele and musician, JJC of the 419 Squad reportedly got married secretly in London yesterday.

Interestingly, it was the day Funke celebrated her birthday, but perhaps what irked many about the secret wedding was the absence of Funke’s family members at the nuptials.
